WHY MARBLES?


When my girls were young, they had marble jars. Whenever I heard them say something kind or show gratitude, I let them choose a marble to add to their jar. Once their marble jars were full, we made a big happy occasion of it, and they got to have a special day.
When the girls were grown, I put all the marbles in a big bowl on my coffee table. One day, when feeling nostalgic, I looked at the bowl and realized that each one of those marbles represented a kind word, action, or deed that took place in our home. I knew I needed to honor these marbles, the kind actions they represented, and the influence they had on the beautiful women my girls have become.
The marbles have now taken on a new life. Collectors are buying the smaller marbles to honor friendships and special occasions in their lives, and the larger marbles represent unique significance for each family that has placed them in their homes. Kindness is contagious, and I have been moved by how meaningful these marbles continue to become.
